Celebrating Women who Make a Difference in Our Lives
Mar 08, 2023It's International Women's Day, today!
This is a special day where folx celebrate the amazing women who have made the world a better place by being their authentic selves. The history of IWD goes way back to the early 1900s when individuals started standing up for their rights through protests, rallies, and strikes. Since then, we've come a long way, but there's still a lot of work to be done. IWD is our chance to reflect on the progress we've made, celebrate our achievements, and call for more action towards gender equality.
In celebration, I wrote a poem today!
Roses are red, and violets are blue,
It's International Women's Day, so let's celebrate me and you!
We're strong, we're smart, and we can do anything we set our hearts,
From breaking glass ceilings to running a marathon, we'll never let anyone tell us we can't.
So here's to us, the women of the world, let's raise a glass and give it a swirl,
We'll keep on fighting, we'll keep on shining, and we'll keep on proving that we're truly defining.
So let's give a big round of applause to all the trailblazers who have paved the way for a better world! Whether you organize a march or rally, or just spread the word on social media, there are so many ways to show your support and make a difference. And remember, by working together and advocating for change, we can create a world where everyone, regardless of their gender identity, has the opportunity to thrive!
I am spending my International Women's Day participating in a summit and speaking about one of my favorite topics- secrets!
Keeping secrets can have various mental and physiological consequences, depending on the nature of the secret, the individual's personality, and the circumstances surrounding the secret. It's important to note that not all secrets are harmful, and some may be necessary to maintain privacy or protect someone's safety. However, when secrets are kept out of fear or shame, they can have detrimental effects on mental and physical health. Seeking support from a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional can help individuals manage the stress and negative emotions associated with keeping a secret.
